Each panel can work independently
Power optimisers manage each panel’s operating point individually. Where a roof has shade, different panel orientations or modules performing differently, this can reduce mismatch-related losses compared with a conventional string design.
Potentially better energy yield
The benefit is not a blanket “more efficient” claim for every home. On a complex roof, however, panel-level optimisation can help the system make better use of panels that are affected differently through the day.
Individual panel monitoring
SolarEdge monitoring can show output at the individual-panel level. That gives the homeowner and our team clearer visibility of what the system is doing and can make fault-finding more targeted when something needs attention.
More design flexibility
Panel-level optimisation can be useful when we are designing around multiple roof faces, differing panel groups or partial shade. We still model the roof and explain whether this architecture earns its place in the proposal.
